Driver support for that older hardware has also been dropped,Wow Gold eu so I wouldn't be surprised if Blizzard needed to conjure some hack-y workarounds to extend the life of them. It probably wouldn't hurt to be able to drop an entire video back-end! That might be a lot less code to need to maintain, haha.

It will be especially nice once DirectX 12 is released, although that's still quite a ways down the road. I'm guessing the game developers are really excited for that since it promises such a drastic reduction in video driver overhead and looks like it will finally live up to its word of efficient multi-threading in the API regardless of per-vendor driver support.

In the meantime, maybe Blizzard could support something like AMD's Mantle? A man can dream.
